2010 Farm Tour

On November 16 the District hosted its Annual Farm Tour.  This year we visited the C.P. Crane Power Plant.  The Crane station occupies 157 acres on the Middle River Neck Pennisula adjacent to the Seneca Creek tributary of the Gunpowder River.  The plant has two coal-fired generating units.  Next we boarded the bus and headed for the Boordy Vineyards, one of Maryland's oldest family-run wineries.  They currently produce 70,000 gallons of wine annually.  Boordy is owned by the R.B. Deford family and is situated on their historic 230-acre farm.  Finally, our last stop was the Prigel Family Creamery to observe how their dairy products are processed with state-of-the-art equipment.

Our staff and guests thoroughly enjoyed this informative trip to Baltimore, which included lunch at Golden Corral Buffet.  We would love to have you join us next year.  Give us a call and we will add your name to our invitation list.
