2009 Annual Cooperators Dinner
Calvert Soil Conservation District held its eight Annual Cooperators' Dinner on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at the Calvert County Fairgrounds. Thompson's Catering served a delicious buffet for a group of 250 people. During the dinner the district acknowledged our 2008 Cooperator of the Year, Mrs. Mary Jean Ridgely, for her many years of conservation efforts. During the evening the district presented a PowerPoint presentation of Farmers and Farms of Calvert County, put together by district manager Bill Clark. To show our support for Calvert County farmers and watermen, our door prizes this year were all purchased from local producers. The door prizes included fresh eggs, beef, honey, oysters, and wine from two different local wineries. Everyone had an enjoyable time at the dinner. The district hopes to see Calvert's farmers again in 2010 to share a good meal, good fellowship, and information on conservation programs.
